Any doctors out there who can verify or denounce Kevin Trudeau's 2 "Natural Cures" books?

Some in my family are loving his books and touting them. I’m banging my head against the wall trying to get them to stop listening to his advice. Obviously, eating more fruits and veggies is good for you, cutting down on red meat, refined sugar and alcohol all do wonders. That much you don’t need to pay .99 to figure out.

Can a qualified medical person denounce specific claims please?
(ie: Insulin is BAD for diabetics, candida yeast causes most heart attacks, shellfish are always bad for you, saccharin causes most cancers, antibiotics should not be taken unless you are near death, magnetic bracelets will prevent )

i want to find out how to get rid of candida without having to nuy a book or some product?

I read in a book about natural cures that there is a cure for candida however i no longer have acess to that book and i can’t find a website that doesn’t want to sell me something.
candida is a fungus and antibiotics actually cause it to be worse

Antibiotics for UTI causing yeast infection?

Oh it is so unfair to be a woman! I am almost finished treating my very first UTI with tough Cipro antibiotics. Today I woke up with that "burning itch" most women know and hate. No doubt that I am now forming a yeast infection. Go figure.

I am wondering if I can start treating this tomorrow (today is my last day on antibiotics) and/or if there are any measures I can take to help combat the infection before it gets bad.

Why do antibiotics cause yeast infections?

Antibiotics such as penicillin is used to clean up bacteria infections in the body. But why do they cause yeast infections in many women? I get one every time I take antibiotics (which is rare, but it happens). Isn’t a yeast infection a bacterial infection? I’d assume penicillin would prevent it but it causes it. Usually I get one after 4-5 days of taking antibiotics.

Can they make you feel nauseated? I got a yeast infection after taking two courses of antibiotics and have been getting heartburn and feeling nauseated frequently, is it due to the thrush? Sorry if you didn’t want to know I had a yeast infection lol
What are tetracyclines? I don’t know much about them, they were for pneumonia, I took two courses of one type and one course of a different type.

My girl went to get a check up for STD and HIV all the test were negative but she was diagnosed with a yeast infection. The doctor put her on antibiotics and she was cured however I did not take anything because i didnt think it would transfer to me but when we had sex Monday and today is Thursday she said her symptoms have come back and I wondered if I passed it back to her. I have symptoms of a burning sensation when i entered her but i kept going because her vagina usually is tight. So she started complaining that it hurt and i dont know what to do.

Yeast infection following antibiotics?

I’ve heard that a lot of women get a yeast infection immediately following a round of antibiotics for whatever reason.

My question is that it usually takes me longer than that to get mine…is this abnormal?

I’ve had about 3 yeast infections in my life because of antibiotics and they usually only happen about 2 or 3 weeks after I stop taking the pills.

Most recently I had strep throat and finished my round of antibiotics about 3 weeks ago and noticed

What are my symptoms? ?

I don’t know where to start, I’ll try and keep it short.

I started school in mid August, a week after school, I all of a sudden started not to feel good at all.

I got nauseous, dizzy, headaches, and I only threw up twice. I went to my doctor and she said that it was because I have a sinus infection.

She gave me a Z-Pack, I took it, the symptoms came back, so I thought my sinus infection came back.

I went back to my doctor, and she prescribed me Levaquin 500 mg (antibiotic). My sinusitis symptoms went away, then I learned the horrible side effects of Levaquin, as I’m sure you all have heard.

Anyway, since taking the Levaquin. I have bad abdominal bloating, and slight pain, especially on my left side, almost directly under my left side of the rib cage.

I still occasionally get dizzy, nauseous, and have been constipated. The worst symptom, is that when I don’t eat for a really long time, my stomach feels bloated as if I had a full meal, and I don’t understand why my body is acting like this.

Could all of this be caused by the double prescriptions of antibiotics of Z-Pack, and Levaquin? Because I know that antibiotics can cause yeast overgrowth? I just don’t know what the hell is wrong with me. I was perfectly healthy when I was at home during the summer, and now my health is falling apart.

BTW. I am a 22 year old male, 5′9 220, muscular build. If that helps.

Alcohol vs. candidiasis?

I’m a 25-year-old male. I’m been prescribed penicillin, 300mg po 3/d, to clear up a bacterial throat infection.

I’m worried about contracting oral candidiasis during treatment as it’s happened before when I’ve been on antibiotics.

Is strong ethyl alcohol (either the drinking sort, or an alcohol-based mouthwash like Listerine), just swished around the mouth, a way to prevent this? I know that candidiasis is caused by a yeast, and that most yeast can’t survive concentrated alcohol (why wine tops out at 12-14%).

Most medical sites recommend abstaining from alcohol with (or to prevent) thrush. I imagine this is because when imbibed it breaks down easily into sugars that only feed the problem? And if I don’t actually metabolize (i.e. drink), it’s really the best protection I can get without another prescription or an OTC antifungal… right?

I’m looking for a semi-professional opinion as I’ve done as much research as an amateur hack like me can do.

P.S. probiotic food (yogourt, etc). is the common solution, and is already on the list as soon as I can go get some.

what is the white whipped cream looking stuff in my urine?

I am a 68 year old male, the other day I began to notice some white ‘whipped cream’ looking stuff floating in my urine. The next day it was ’square’ looking kind of like a wet saltine cracker. I also notice that I have a slight swelling in the prostate area. Is this some kind of infection? I have no pain or discomfort. I was treated for a UTI a few weeks ago and treated with cipro for 10 days. I did not have any symptoms of a UTI at that time either, he just discovered it at a routine exam. Does anyone know what this is? Or has anyone experienced this before. I have been eating a LOT of fruit lately and I was wondering if that was creating a yeast infection or something after taking the antibiotics.
